Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple. We believe in equity, excellence, holistic development, and community outreach. We are grounded in the philosophy of “lifting and climbing” – as scholars of color we must lift others up as we climb towards success.

Our Values

We are committed to our four core values:

  1. Equity – We believe all scholars should receive fair treatment, including access to resources and opportunities.
  2. Excellence – We believe all scholars should strive to be their best selves.
  3. Holistic Development – We believe all scholars should grow in the eight dimensions of wellness
    1. Emotional wellness
    2. Financial wellness
    3. Social wellness
    4. Spiritual wellness
    5. Occupational wellness
    6. Physical wellness
    7. Intellectual wellness
    8. Environmental wellness
  4. Community Outreach – We believe all scholars should be actively involved in helping the larger community advance.

Why Scholars of Color?

Scholars of all backgrounds are welcome to attend and participate in our programs and services. We are an inclusive firm with a non-discrimination statement. However, given the historical lack of resources allocated to racial and ethnic minority communities in the United States, many of our programs and services are catered to serve individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities.

Why Across the Lifespan?

Scholars should never stop growing!  We cater to scholars of color from kindergarten to retirement and all life stages in between. We welcome K-12 Scholars, Collegiate Scholars and Continuing Studies Scholars.

  • K-12 Scholars are individuals who aspire for excellence while in elementary, middle, and high school.
  • Collegiate Scholars are individuals who aspire for excellence while pursuing their undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  • Continuing Studies Scholars are individuals who aspire for excellence and are not currently enrolled in school.
